Schedule and results
Regular season
The regular season schedule was released on July 22, 2021, with only about a handful of games scheduled in February because NHL players are planning to participate in the 2022 Winter Olympics.[6] Ultimately, due to a surge in the COVID-19 pandemic, NHL players did not go to the Olympics, and the planned break in February was used to reschedule some games that had been postponed due to outbreaks of COVID-19 throughout the league in December and January.
