Wendell Bell (* 27. september 1924, Chicago, Illinois, USA^[1][2] – † 3. november 2019)^[3] bol americký sociológ a futurológ a emeritný profesor sociológie na Yale University.^[4][5][6]

Kariéra

Narodil sa v meste Chicago v USA. Študoval na Fresno State University v štáte Kalifornia.^[5][6] Titul PhD získal na University of California v Los Angeles.^[7] Pôsobil na Stanford University, Northwestern University a University of California v Los Angeles. Od roku 1963 do roku 1995 pôsobil ako profesor na Yale University.^[5]

Od roku 1960 sa zaoberá futurológiou. Zaoberá sa tiež sociológiou mesta, sociálno-územnými analýzami, teóriou politických a sociálnych zmien. Je autorom dvojzväzkovej publikácie Foundations of Futures Studies - Základy štúdii budúcnosti. Žije v New Haven v štáte Connecticut.
