Looking at the history of Golden jackal, I see that you've managed to sort this out. There's documentation on this referencing style at Help:List-defined references. -- John of Reading (talk) 07:26, 14 March 2019 (UTC)

Reference 2 keeps getting a Cite error/Cite error references no text

Sonia Gutiérrez (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nancy salto (talkcontribs) 14 March 2019 05:47 (UTC)

@Nancy salto: I have tidied the refs as best I can. There is an undefined ref 'fajardo Hill for which author there are two works in the 'sources'. Without knowing which the refs refer to I cannot assign the ref name accurately. Please provide a link to any page you need help with. Please remember to sign your posts on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~). Thank you. Eagleash (talk) 07:50, 14 March 2019 (UTC)

Map

How to load a map with geometric coordinates on wikipedia? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Amandlaxoki (talkcontribs) 06:34, 14 March 2019 (UTC)

That's a big subject. I suggest you take a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Maps and the links from there, and if that doesn't help come back here with a more specific question.--Shantavira|feed me 08:38, 14 March 2019 (UTC)

Category:Wikipedian university students

I'm looking at Category:Wikipedian university students.

Is there any way to filter by university or subject?

Benjamin (talk) 07:40, 14 March 2019 (UTC)reply

@Benjaminikuta: You can't filter any information that the user hasn't already applied to their profile. Because of site anonymity, specific colleges and fields of study do not seem to have categories that you can add to your user page. For other editors viewing this - here's a link to the category in question Category:Wikipedian university students. TimTempleton (talk) (cont) 18:37, 14 March 2019 (UTC)reply

how to make my specified one work of Wifik3r8bLk2Zr to Public Domain — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wifik3r8bLk2Zr (talkcontribs) 11:51, 14 March 2019 (UTC)reply

@Wifik3r8bLk2Zr: Can you be more specific what you need help with? Links to articles, specific issues, etc. and please sign comments with four tildes. Thanks. TimTempleton (talk) (cont) 14:31, 14 March 2019 (UTC)reply
@Wifik3r8bLk2Zr: When you put your work anywhere on Wikipedia (main space, your user page, drafts, talk pages...) you are licensing it under the CC BY-SA 3.0 license. Since you still own the copyright, you are free to re-license it or even release it into the public domain. However, you are NOT free to release any other contributor' work, so if your work has been changed by another editor, you cannot re-license the modified work. Therefore, a statement such as "I release all my contributions on Wikipedia into the public domain" might make legal sense, but it does not make practical sense and is likely to cause confusion. Instead, you will need to copy your own work, without any other editor's work, to some other web site where you have exclusive control of the contents, and then, on that web site, make your release statement. CC BY-SA allows very liberal re-use. Is there a reason you want to use PD? -Arch dude (talk) 17:12, 14 March 2019 (UTC)reply

Help:Cite errors/Cite error references duplicate keyedit

User:Jo-Jo Eumerus/Qurupuna is throwing up a ref error message, and the ref tag does not actually display the actually broken ref (a state of affairs that should probably change...); with some namespace/preview witchcraft I've found out that one reference has a duplicate key but I can't find the duplicate. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 21:49, 14 March 2019 (UTC)reply

this:
{{sfn|Bromley|Hall|Rademaker|Todd|2011|p=307|ps=The mountain is sometimes referred to as Cunchaicha rather than Cuncaicha.}}
is not the same as the seven of these:
{{sfn|Bromley|Hall|Rademaker|Todd|2011|p=307}}
these are not the same because the first one creates a reference that looks like this:
<ref name="FOOTNOTEBromleyHallRademakerTodd2011307">#CITEREFBromleyHallRademakerTodd2011|Bromley et al. 2011, p. 307The mountain is sometimes referred to as Cunchaicha rather than Cuncaicha.</ref>
while the rest of them create references that look like this:
<ref name="FOOTNOTEBromleyHallRademakerTodd2011307">#CITEREFBromleyHallRademakerTodd2011|Bromley et al. 2011, p. 307.</ref>

Template for cleaning up disambiguation linksedit

Howdy. I seem to recall that there is a template for tagging an article as needing dabfixes (case in point - Outline of Roget's Thesaurus, which I'm not sure should exist in any case, but that's another issue), but I can't find it in among our piles of cleanup templates. Any ideas? --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 22:16, 14 March 2019 (UTC)reply

That's it; thank you. Not sure why I couldn't find it. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 23:56, 14 March 2019 (UTC)reply
